Why eat raw food

Why eat raw food

Raw food means unprocessed, organic vegan foods that have not been heated above 46 degrees Celsius (115 degrees Fahrenheit). Foods cooked above this temperature have lost their enzymes and thus a significant amount of their nutritional value and are harmful to the body, whereas uncooked foods provide living enzymes and proper nutrition. In Enzyme Nutrition, Dr. Edward Howell, the first researcher to recognize the importance of the enzymes in food to human nutrition, said:

“Whenever food is heated, enzymes are lost and denatured. Uncooked plant foods are rich in enzymes, which are needed for the digestive system to work properly.”

Raw foods includes:

  • fruits
  • vegetables
  • nuts
  • seeds
  • sprouts
  • grains
  • seaweed
  • spices
  • herbs
  • oils
  • sweeteners

There are many benefits to eating raw foods, including weight loss, more energy, clear skin, improved digestion and improved overall health.More you eat raw food then more you will look and feel younger.

Wherever you travel you can always buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Preparation of raw meals is very easy. It is really useful to have a blender or food processor at home to prepare smoothies or juices. As soon as you will start preparing some of the raw foods you will see how colorful and fun “cooking” can be.

For me adopting raw food in daily meals took from desire to become healthier, feel better, and look better. I know is hard to start and its easier to drink one cup of coffee in the morning, which can give you an immediate lift, but in the long term, it depletes your body of nutrients and add nothing to your overall health. Try to green smoothie in the morning instead. It gives you all the nutrients and life-giving vitamins to start your day.

Remember that besides eating properly you need to be active, mentally and physically:). So read a book, seat in lotus and have a smoothie

Try to incorporate one raw meal a day. It can be smoothie, salad or fresh juice, etc., and see how you’ll feel. Enjoy!
