I have another latte recipe for you. I finally figured it out the best proportion of matcha powder, milk and sweetener, to make this latte creamy and sweet. This beverage is rich in antioxidant and it can be a wonderful coffee replacement.
I reach for matcha latte when I need a bit of pick-me-up, especially in the afternoon. It’s not on regular basis though, it’s more like a special treat for me😉. I add coconut milk here but almond milk works pretty good as well.
1 tsp matcha tea powder
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp hot water
1/4 tsp maca root powder (you can use ashwaganda as well for additional benefits) – optional
1 1/2 cup coconut milk
1. Add matcha powder to your favourite mug, together with maple syrup and hot water (if you add optional superfood powders, this is the time to add them here as well).
2. Whisk the mixture with bamboo or metal whisk until completely dissolved. If you don’t have a whisk just use the spoon, but make sure the mixture is smooth.
3. Heat coconut milk (or any plant milk of your choice) until hot and steamy. To get more froth just use a handheld frother.
4. Pour slowly the milk into matcha mixture and enjoy immediately!
