
I love chocolate – that’s nothing new. Especially combination of chocolate and orange. The idea of this flavour comes from essential oils. I love to diffuse orange scent in my house.
So I decided include some orange flavour in my cakes as well. One of the best my creations so far in my opinion😉👍. Taste amazing.
INGREDIENTS :
For Chocolate base:
1 cup walnuts
8-10 dates
3 tbsp carob powder
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp water
For chocolate layer:
1 1/2 cup cashew (soak overnight)
1/2 cup raw cacao powder
1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
1/3 maple syrup
1/3 cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract
For orange layer:
1 cup cashew (soaked overnight)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
Zest of two oranges
Juice of two oranges
3-4 drop orange essential oil
Chocolate topping:
2 tbsp coconut oil
3 tbsp carob powder
3 tbsp maple syrup
2-3 drops orange essential oil
PREPARATION :
- Place all base ingredients into food processor and pulse till sticky mixture appears. Transert to 6″ cake tin, press firmly with your palms and leave in the freezer to harden.
- To make a chocolate layer, simply place all ingredients into high speed blender and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture over the top of base and leave in the freezer for at least one hour.
- Meanwhile prepare orange layer by placing all ingredients into blender. When chocolate layer harden, pour over the orange layer and leave in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
- To prepare chocolate topping melt coconut oil, add carob powder and maple syrup, and mix well. Add orange essential oil. Pour over on the top of the cake and leave in a freezer for additional 10 minutes.
